Draw lines, make triangles! In Dots and Triangles, players take turns connecting dots to form triangles. Complete a triangle to claim it — the player with the most triangles at the end wins! A fun twist on the classic Dots and Boxes game.
Instructions
Download and print your Dots and Triangles board (a grid of dots).
Players take turns drawing a single line between two adjacent dots. You can connect dots horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
When you complete a triangle (three connected lines forming a closed triangle), mark it with your initial or color — that triangle is yours!
If you complete a triangle, you take another turn.
The game ends when no more triangles can be formed.
The player with the most triangles wins!
Tip: Think ahead and avoid setting up easy triangles for your opponent.
Variations
Colorful Triangles
Color in your triangles instead of using initials — makes for a beautiful, bright board.
Team Play
Play in teams — teammates take turns making moves and planning strategy.
Secret Triangle Bonus
Before starting, secretly mark 1 dot on the back of the board. The player who captures the first triangle touching that dot earns bonus points!
Timed Turns
Set a timer for each move — great for keeping the game fast-paced and exciting.
