Instructions

Download and print your Dots and Triangles board (a grid of dots).

  • Players take turns drawing a single line between two adjacent dots. You can connect dots horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
  • When you complete a triangle (three connected lines forming a closed triangle), mark it with your initial or color — that triangle is yours!
  • If you complete a triangle, you take another turn.
  • The game ends when no more triangles can be formed.
  • The player with the most triangles wins!

Tip: Think ahead and avoid setting up easy triangles for your opponent.

Variations

Colorful Triangles

  • Color in your triangles instead of using initials — makes for a beautiful, bright board.

Team Play

  • Play in teams — teammates take turns making moves and planning strategy.

Secret Triangle Bonus

  • Before starting, secretly mark 1 dot on the back of the board. The player who captures the first triangle touching that dot earns bonus points!

Timed Turns

  • Set a timer for each move — great for keeping the game fast-paced and exciting.
